Within his clan, hunters are given several names throughout their lives based around various feats and life achievements. Isttowani is no different having two names he currently carries with him. Both coming from his own clan's dialect a rough translation is needed as it is not always a one to one. Both are his names, so both are given and can be used to address him.Isttowani meaning knife or 'one who holds the knife' was given because he is never found without his twin blades.
Ayissomataa meaning 'to wait in ambush' was a name earned for being a very skilled hunter.

An aging man, he has greying hair and crows feet on the edges of his eyes, hinting that he smiles much more than he lets on. Wearing a handcrafted hairpiece, the bead work is unique enough to his clan that it could be recognizable to other hhetsarro or Shaaloani locals. The clan markings on his face are also common to his family though a bit more broad sweeping to denote him only as someone from the northern reaches. Unassuming and not afraid to show his age, it can often surprise those around him how capable he really is when things get chaotic.Isttowani is a short man who is built scrappy and ready for a fight. He is lean and lithe, built for quick decisive action over straight power. Wearing clothing that makes it easy and comfortable to move, it is clear he is used to traveling long distances on foot. Bright and easily visible clothing are common when he is looking for work, allowing anyone to spot him from afar and flag him down. Two swords set in sheathes on his back, they are well maintained and cared for, but it's easy see that these are not just for show. When on hunts he will often uses paints and a lobohead hood for easy recognition at a distance that he is stalking prey.A frown on his face when in busy towns, he seems more content to be on his own. Exhausted of the pace in which everything changes, his gruff voice growls out his words in a low, but relatively friendly manner. Despite his diminutive stature he maintains an air of owning his space wherever he goes, clearly confidant in his skills. A keen focus in his gaze, he has a strong awareness of his surroundings for an old man.

Born in the Northern plains of Loazeniheta on the upper continent of Xak Tural, Isttowani lived a very typical life for a Hhetsarro. Traveling the plains and following the northern herds of rroneek, his clan would pass through Shaaloani as the herds moved along their migration paths. Willing to be a forward guard, he often traveled ahead of his family to keep the roads clear and safe for their arrival. Continued training and work on the field helped him become a well respected hunter within his clan. Eventually he left to become one of the hunters of the Vidraal, a viper.Training as a viper came easy, as he was already used to watching and learning from the beasts of Tural. A hunter at heart, he enjoys the freedom he’s gained. Able to trade his services for all manner of goods, he rarely finds himself in need of much pel. In circumstances where pel is needed, he often awkwardly fumbles through the transaction unless his husband is there to save him. Uncharacteristically sociable and willing to work with those far from the popular settlements, he’s become a familiar face in the more wild regions away from the busier towns in Tural.

A sweet voice on the wind: Isttowani is a singer when he travels, and his voice carries far on the plains. He is not shy, nor has any shame in belting out his favorite songs. If one were to follow the song, you'd easily find his camp and good company for the evening. Most commonly, he'll be singing about travel. Monster Hunter: A traveler with his partner, he seeks out challenging prey across Tural. Maybe you are in need of his services or have been helped by them in the past? Feel free to recognize his face and walk on up! If you are a common face in Shaaloani you would know him as one of the huntmasters that helped quell a couple large scale hunts. [Occasional DM for 'Where the Sun Guides' discord] Wood and horn carvings: In his downtime he is an avid whittler and carver. He keeps his trinkets visible and often is caught carving horn or wood while he relaxes. Would you like one of his carvings, or perhaps you need a cute gift for a friend? [PST and I'll cook something up for you!]

Enter the Viper: Fully trained as a viper in the mountains of Tural. He was a dedicated student who loved to spar often to test his skills, though also spent many hours alone to meditate and practice. Maybe you remember him during your time being trained? Maybe you want to reminisce! [PST so we can sync up timelines!] Follow the Rroneek: As a hhetsarro who followed a northern herd of rroneek he crossed from Loazeniheta to Shaaloani during the migrations. Maybe you remember his clan and how they would trade furs and meat with the settlements. Perhaps you were another tribe following your own hhetso and shared camps with his clan. [DM me and we can hash it out!] Wandering across the lands: Having left his family to travel, he often finds himself out in the more wild parts of Tural. More often in the satellite settlements over the larger more established towns, feel free to recognize him from his travels!

Natayo Saoyi'kitstaki

"My beloved who travels with me across Tural."

Blunt and stubborn while caring not for tact in his assessments of character, he can often startle people in his snappish commentary. Doting husband and fellow hunter, Natayo goes with Isttowani on his hunts as his handler. Isttowani is head over heels for the man and is often seen serenading him in their downtime.

Nahekka Hheteyna

"Aapi'si, always coming around the camp looking for food."

A vagabond that keeps coming back, but one Isttowani is fine to let share a meal at his camp. Publicly there seems to be no deep familial love between them, between the lines there is a protectiveness about him. Whatever their bond, when Nahekka needs a safe place to sleep and a free meal he knows Isttowani's camp is always open.

Sloane Laisren

"Makóyi... He sours the name. Still, his pack is loyal, and I can't fault that."

When everything was changing and the towns were cropping up in Shaaloani, the gangs began to gather and gain their reputations. It's unknown the relationship that Isttowani has with Sloane, but it's clear that when things go sour the old Hhetsarro is always willing to turn a blind eye. It's not his business.

Cobalt Shshuye

"Kaaahsa, he is so tired."

Not a lot is known about the man beyond him being exceptionally tired, and moderately grumpy. However, Isttowani can relate as sometimes things change so fast you just need a nap. A man he can enjoy a good smoke on the porch with while they yell at the kids.

Hotshot Laila

"Sinopáá, she is so curious about everything around her."

A woman who has taken to pestering Isttowani when he returns to Shaaloani. They often trade stories, food, and all manner of trinkets at his camp when she can find him. Someone who is always worried about others and their stories, Isttowani is determined to remind her that she also has her own story to write.

Yolli De'tepoztli

"I thought I lost him... In a way, I suppose I still did."

Once a promising student, Yolli was caught under the dome when it appeared. What was only a week for Isttowani was thirty years for the Shetona to survive. A resistance fighter, Yolli has changed a lot in the time he spent within the dome, but for Isttowani it's like he didn't change at all. Together they are going to slowly work through the hardships of building what they once had.

I am always excited to meet new faces and make new friends, but there are a few important things to note! Isttowani is not my main, which means I don't spend as much time on him, so setting up RP dates and times work much better for planning. I have no interest RPing Isttowani outside of Turali spaces, so if I'm out and about elsewhere don't expect that I will tag up. I am of indigenous descent, so I will not tolerate any racist caricatures in my RP space. I am very queer friendly, and will not tolerate any discrimination in my RP space. Even if I don't have my RP tag on I am still open to talk anytime, so feel free to shoot me a message and lets plan some RP!

I am a DM for my free company, The Steelgrin Sirens, and work a full time job to pay my bills. I love making contacts, but I am not available 24/7. Your time is important to me, so I will not ask for it lightly. I'm older at 35+ and I'm not really comfortable roleplaying with folks too much younger than me, so 21+ is mandatory while 25+ is preferred. Sorry kids. Communication is very important to continued stories, so OOC chatter is always welcome and encouraged. If you feel like something is not making sense, please contact me so we can work through the issue. If you use 'tribal' as a synonym for savage or feral don't interact with me. Tribes are families first, not some excuse to commit another microaggression. I am not interested in engaging with anyone's racist fanon, any misrepresentation of indigenous people as 'savage/feral/cavemen', or any 'noble savage' characters. I make good use of my blacklist function, and have absolutely zero tolerance for fascist bullshit OOC. You can play a character that is Garlean without playing fascist iconography. As a PoC I am very familiar with fascist dogwhistles, and I don't have the patience to engage with anyone too ignorant to educate themselves.
